The arrival of the Onyx surprised both of us. We didn't expect to run into other capsuleers out here. The sleepers were hitting us hard as his warp distruption bubble deployed, trapping the both of us. He went after the high value target first and began to orbit Lieutenant de'Auvrie in her ship, the Abaddon-class TES Jötunheimr.
"He's hitting this one's drones!" She called out over the comm. "...And this one can't get a hit him, he's too close."
The sleepers delivered a devestating blow to my Prophecy. I was trapped in the bubble, and could see the incoming shots that were going to tear what was left of my armor off, and annihilate my ship. "I'm going down!"
Suddenly I cleared the bubble, however, and I warped out. "I'm out!" I announced.
"Can you come back?" She asked.
"Of course, I'm not going to leave you there." I had flown a few times in the warzone with this fragile Praetorian and wasn't about to leave her behind.
Once the repairs were enough to where I felt confident going back in, I initiated warp again and raced to help the girl. The bttlefield appeared, showing both the sleepers and the Onyx firing upon the battleship. As soon as I landed I began to take hits again, the sleepers retargeting onto me.
I found myself playing the same game I had with the sleepers eariler. Warp in, shoot, almost die, warp out, repair, repeat. It was irritating, and I was continually afraid I'd either not make it out one time or come back to find the wreck of the Jötunheimr.
The Jötunheimr was holding fast, however. The strength of the battleship was showing as it took hits from the sleepers and the Onyx, yet stayed on the field, keeping it's armor servicable. It continued to shoot vainly at the Onyx, hoping for a lucky hit.
I approached the Onyx again, targeting it and getting ready for my ill-equipped ship to sling it's arrows against the juggernaut of the Onyx's defenses. Apparently tired of my in-and-out survival strategy, the Onyx moved to engage me, intent on keeping me within the reaches of his bubble until I had been disposed of.
It was his mistake, however, as he soon drifted far enough from the Jötunheimr for it's guns begin to strike it. The powerful resists of the shield began to take more punishment, and the sleepers finally began to fire upon the third party as well. Soon, he was low enough to make his confidence falter, and he warped off before the fury of our lasers could burn into his hull.
"Get out!" I shouted over the comms to Lieutenant de'Auvrie.
"This one thanks you," she softly whispered, audibly shaken by the near death in the worm hole. Her battleship aligned and warped off, and I followed quickly behind her.
Two hours later I would find out why I had felt her name familiar...I should have left her to die there in that hole.
